Via his responsibilities at Insight Venture Partners, Alex Crisses is focused on infrastructure software and internet investments. He’s a Principal at Insight Venture Partners (Insight). Established in 1995, Insight is an entrepreneur-focused investor. They invest in expansion and late-stage software, data-enabled and Internet enterprises. Mr. Crisses works with, and offers support to, entrepreneurs and management that are trying to grow their enterprises in the best way possible. He invested in Shunra Software, a company that’s the industry-recognized authority in Application Performance Engineering (APE) as well as a pioneer in WAN Emulation. He also invested in GFI Software (GFI), a company that produces sturdy, award-winning Information Technology solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
Alex Crisses achieved his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School. He is a George F. Baker Scholar from this educational institution. Prior to receiving his Masters in Business Administration , he graduated out of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics from this institution. Moreover, he was the recipient of the school’s Highest Honor. He employs his acumen and skills obtained from his academic studies to make prudent investments in progressive and innovative infrastructure software and internet firms.
Alex Crisses has practical business working experience in the field of investment banking. He worked at Credit Suisse First Boston’s Global Energy and Power Group as an analyst ahead of joining Insight Venture Partners in 2002. Additionally, Mr. Crisses was a member of the Board of Directors for GFI Software. He additionally served as an observer on the Scriptologic Corporation Board of Directors. His business knowledge proves beneficial to him in his business endeavors, including in his leadership role in Insight Venture Partner’s investment in SolarWinds, Inc. Founded in 1999, SolarWinds is a major provider of Windows-based network management, network monitoring, and network discovery software.
While dedicating major effort to his business commitments, Alex Crisses also makes time for charity work. He is an advocate of the initiatives that NYC-based Minds Matter involves in. Minds Matter is a charitable organization for high school students who are underprivileged. This not for profit institution assists students who have achieved academic success in high school, prepare for advanced education to assist in promoting their careers in the disciplines they choose. Mr. Crisses was formerly Minds Matter’s Executive Committee member and Director of Fundraising. Generally, regarding businesses and charitable organizations, he concentrates his time and effort to foster effective programs so these organizations can accomplish their desired goals.
