Alex Crisses, through his work at Insight Venture Partners, is targeted on internet and infrastructure software investments. He’s a Principal at Insight Venture Partners (Insight). Established in 1995, Insight is an investor that focuses on entrepreneurs. They invest in expansion and late-stage software, data-enabled and Internet enterprises. Mr. Crisses works jointly with, and gives support to, management and entrepreneurs who are working to grow their enterprises in the most efficient possible way. He invested in Shunra Software, an enterprise that is the industry-recognized authority in Application Performance Engineering (APE) as well as a pioneer in WAN Emulation. In addition, he invested in GFI Software, an organization that produces effective, award-winning IT solutions for small and medium-sized companies.
Alex Crisses realized his Masters in Business Administration with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School. He’s a George F. Baker Scholar from this academic institution. Leading up to receiving his Masters in Business Administration, he graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from this university. Moreover, he was the recipient of the school’s Highest Honor. He takes advantage of his acumen and skills attained from his studies to make astute investments in progressive and innovative internet and infrastructure software enterprises.
Alex Crisses has practical business experience in the investment banking field. He worked at Credit Suisse First Boston’s Global Energy and Power Group as an analyst before joining Insight in 2002. On top of that, Mr. Crisses was a GFI Software Board of Directors member. He also served as an observer on the Scriptologic Corporation Board of Directors. His business know-how proves valuable to him in his business initiatives, for instance in his leadership role in Insight’s investment in SolarWinds, Inc. Founded in 1999, SolarWinds, Inc. is a major provider of Windows-based network management, network monitoring, and network discovery software.
While investing major effort to his business obligations, Alex Crisses also makes time for not for profit work. He is a supporter of the ventures that New York City-based Minds Matter engages in. Minds Matter is a charitable organization for high school students who are underprivileged. This charitable organization helps students that have achieved academic success in high school, prepare for advanced education to assist in promoting their careers in the specialties they choose. Previously, Mr. Crisses was Minds Matter’s Executive Committee member and Director of Fundraising. Generally, concerning charitable organizations and businesses, he targets his time and energy to foster effective plans so these organizations can realize their desired goals.
